This is the heartwarming moment kind rescuers gave food to a dog stuck on a roof amid Typhoon Noru floods in Thailand.

The team spotted the stranded canine and several chickens taking shelter on the tin roof as floodwaters inundated homes in Ubon Ratchathani province on September 29.

The pooch appeared relieved and raced towards the relscue personnel as they rowed closer. They then handed it some food to stave off hunger while waiting for the deluge to recede.

A volunteer said: 'I'm not sure why the owner left the dog here. I hope they come to pick it up soon.'

More than 4,000 residents in Ubon Ratchathani, in the northeast of the country, were evacuated on Wednesday evening ahead of the storm.

Noru has been downgraded to a tropical depression as it moves across Thailand on Thursday, September 9.

However, authorities have warned of possible floods and landslides across 64 provinces in the country as the weather system sweeps towards Myanmar.
