A bank armored vehicle carrying the equivalent of 260 thousand dollars crashed and left three people dead in Thailand.

The security company's truck was tasked to collect and refill cash in ATM machines when it slammed into a cement barricade in Pattaya on September 27.

Witnesses said the modified Toyota Vigo flew off the road barrier and flipped on the roadside, instantly killing the driver and two guards inside with cracked skull.

Rescuers had to use power-cutting tools to extract the workers inside the reinforced truck while the money box was also secured and sent to the police station with an agency representative.

Mabprachan Highway Investigation Unit Police Inspector Lieutenant Colonel Nakrob Siriphan said: ‘We have ordered the safe to be transported to the police station and coordinated with the security company to retrieve the money.'

Witnesses reportedly told police that the truck was heading to secure money in a branch of Siam Commercial Bank when it skidded off the road.

The three people inside died on the scene from the impact and were found lying on one side of the car but the steel-plated structure could not easily be opened.

The roof had to be ripped apart while the front portion of the vehicle was completely wrecked, and the safe fell outside the car.

Rescuers took the bodies to Bang Lamung Hospital while they contacted their relatives for funeral.
