Two vigilant cops saved the life of a man who slipped and fell while boarding a moving train in eastern India's West Bengal.

The incident happened at the Panskura junction on September 29.

CCTV footage showed the incident where the man is seen running to catch train number 18005 from platform number two, just as it started moving. He then proceeded to lose balance completely and was perilously close to the gap between the train and the platform.

However, the alert response by cops LK Thakur and Suraj Kumar ensured that a major tragedy was averted.

They rushed to pull out the man from the train into safety after watching him get dragged by the moving vehicle for a while. Later on, the man was made to feel comfortable and was asked his name.

However, since he didn't know Bengali, Hindi or English and only spoke Malayalam, his name couldn't be deciphered. He didn't have any injuries.

The man later safely boarded a local train for Kharagpur.
