A cassowary joins a group of soldiers of the Indonesian National Army in their daily running workout.

The footage shows the flightless bird incessantly following four military officers as they run around the base. The animal looks tireless and follows the men for several rounds.

Towards the end of the clip, a soldier can be seen trying to stop the cassowary, but moments later, the bird resumes its run.

The person who captured this on camera, a soldier, said that this was the first time he had seen something similar.

"This cassowary probably wants to take part in our military selection", he joked.

The video was recorded inside the Military District Command Headquarters 1808 South Manokwari, West Papua, Indonesia.

The behavior of a cassowary bird is unique. The reason is, the rare bird was recorded being engrossed in participating in sports with the Indonesian National Army soldiers. The Papuan bird is seen following four soldiers running around the headquarters.

In the video, four soldiers can be seen running around the base in the afternoon to maintain their physical fitness. Without realizing it, behind the soldier was seen a cassowary also running.

A soldier tried to stop the cassowary, but moments later the cassowary followed the soldiers to run around the base.

This unique and funny incident was recorded by an Indonesian Army soldier inside the Military District Command Headquarters 1808 South Manokwari, West Papua.

The cassowary, looking tireless and following the soldiers from behind for several rounds.

The video recorder also added that it was the first time he had seen the unique event of the cassowary participating in the exercise of TNI soldiers inside the headquarters.

"This cassowary still survives, he wants to take part in the enlisted selection of the Special Autonomy path in 2022. Look at this history, he runs around. He still runs, and still survives with four soldiers," said the video recorder.

A soldier had time to restrain the cassowary's run. But when he saw the soldiers who ran back across, the cassowary returned to its unique behavior.

"Don't (detain) brother, he wants to run away. That's him again, he's a cassowary soldier," said the video recorder
