Two historic steam vessels 'met-up' in the Thames Estuary off Kent, UK this afternoon (October 3) in an event billed as a 'festival of steam'.

PS Waverley, the world's last seagoing paddle steamer met up with ST Challenge, the last steam tug to work the Thames in a 'steam parade' to the iconic Red Sands Forts.

Spectator vessel and Red Sands forts official tour boat X-Pilot was also in attendance.

Footage shows the Waverley paddle steamer departing from Southend on Sea pier and passing the wreck of SS Richard Montgomery, before meeting up with steam tug Challenge just prior to arriving at the Red Sands Forts at just after 2pm local time.
