A boyfriend accidentally spiked a volleyball into his girfriend's face during their practice session.

The competitive couple were training hard for a local league and filmed their progress in Bukidnon province, the Philippines on August 1.

However, the lad Christian Digamon became carried away and smashed the ball too hard straight into the nose of opponent Shy Pepito.

Footage shows the pair exchanging the ball between hits before it struck the woman flat in the face.

Girlfriend Shy said: ‘I knew he did not do it on purpose but it was still painful. It hit my nose. I thought I cracked a bone but fortunately I was fine.'

When the ball hit the woman's face, Christian rushed to check on her while they giggled embracing due to the unexpected incident.

Shy added: ‘We laughed it off and he said sorry to me countless times. He also treated me dinner after that. I guess he really felt bad.'
