Shaman claims snake venom cured woman suffering with terminal Leukemia
A shaman claims he can cure cancer with snake venom - after healing himself and a woman dying of Leukemia.
Witchdoctor Rosalio Cusit Jr used the highly venomous green pit vipers to bite Geoliqueen Junio, 20, who had been suffering with the illness since 2017.
Rosalio, known locally as 'Datu Kamandag', and Geoliqueen now both claim the the alternative therapy has rid her of the blood cancer.
Footage shows the spiritual healer letting one of his pets pierce its fangs into Geoliqueen's left arm in Surigao del Sur province, the Philippines on April 7.
The woman survived and her relatives claimed the cancer 'is almost gone'.
Geoliqueen said: 'Snake bites are better than injections. No more oxygen, no more blood transfusion, no more IV medication No more dextrose.
'They have saved my life, when nothing else worked.'
Geoliqueen was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which only has a 25 per cent survival rate, in 2017. Medics failed to cure her despite rigorous rounds of chemotherapy which caused her to lose her hair.
She began combing the hospital's treatment with snake bite therapy and had seen improvements in the condition.
However, Geoliqueen's condition suddenly deteriorated in April 2022 and her family decided to pull her out of the hospital and take her to the shaman.
She arrived at Rosalio's home late at night to receive a dose of snake bite. They claim that she has now been cured of cancer.
Jovy Tero, the shaman's assistant, said: ‘Geoliqueen was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2017, but the family decided to take her out of the hospital. She was dying when they took her to us via an ambulance, and she was healed.'
The tribal guru Rosalio said he catches the snakes from a nearby forest and makes the serpent bite directly into a sick patient's skin.
Rosalio said: ‘I was the first patient of this miracle snake venom, so I know it works. It saved my life, and now I hope to save others too.'
Aside from cancer, the shaman claimed that snake bite venom could treat various diseases such as diabetes and heart problems.
He added he discovered snakes' healing powers after being bitten by a viper while gathering food from the mountains 28 years ago in 1994.
Rosalio said: ‘We were looking for sweet potatoes, banana, and fruit trees. We rested on a wood block, but I didn't notice the green snake. It bit me.
'The bite was so painful I could not walk for three days. I knew I was going to die because I was diabetic.'
However, after three days, the old man woke up feeling fine. He also went to a health centre to check his blood sugar and was baffled as it normalized.
He said: ‘I don't know what happened, but I had a feeling that it was the snake that cured me.'
After telling the story to his friends, some asked if he could also treat them using snake bites as their community is kilometres away from the hospital. He reportedly had successful results until word came out of the small village, and more people trekked the mountains to reach his home.
Rosalio said: ‘I have proven that my snake venom treatment is effective. I hope more people would realise its potential.'
