Three-month-old baby Jeneboy Adajor was born with a large water mass on his head in the Philippines' Bukidnon province.

His parents are now raising awareness of his case for him to have urgent surgery and a normal life. They said that their son was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition that consists of the build-up of fluid in the brain. The causes of hydrocephalus are yet to be discovered.

The woman, who had her first child at the age of 15, said doctors urged her to treat the baby as soon as possible as the lump formed around the boy's nose. Hydrocephalus usually forms around the head, however, Jeneboy's was found around his nose bridge and between his eyes.

The parents collected donations and managed to get 100,000 PHP (1,500 GBP). Thanks to people's help, the baby has recently undergone surgery (October 1) that drained part of the fluid but Jeneboy needs further operations to remove the empty sac of skin, which is hanging like a deflated balloon.

The baby boy's mother, Johannie Dilag, 19, said the procedure would cost them "everything they have" and they cannot afford it.

"We sold everything we have to pay for his first operation. We don't know if we can afford the second one. I blame myself for everything that's happened to my boy".

Johannie's husband, Abner, 28, only earns 345 PHP (5 GBP) per day as a pineapple plantation worker. He only goes to work during picking season. At most, he gets four shifts in two weeks.

"We will have to do two more surgeries. The second is plastic surgery to fix his nose and the third is to prevent any more water from building up around that area", she explained.

The baby is now home with his parents and his four-year-old and two-year-old siblings. The family is now waiting for more donations.

"I want my youngest to have a normal life, he deserves it", Jeneboy's mother said.
