Rescuers help save motorcycle taxi drivers from overflowing river floods in Indonesia
An online motorcycle taxi driver in Yogyakarta City, Indonesia, was swept away by an overflowing river due to heavy rains that flushed the area.
Wiyono, the victim, and his bike were swept away by the river current on Sunday afternoon (October 2).
The Head of the Yogyakarta City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Nur Hidayat, said that joint officers together with residents managed to save Wiyono.
"The victim was taken to the police clinic, his motorbike was found not far from the victim," Hidayat added.
According to Hidayat, heavy rain caused the river to overflow and cause a fairly heavy current which resulted in a landslide and the houses were slightly damaged.
