Sealed with a kiss! Adorable moment marine mammal plants 'kiss' on another's cheek
This is the adorable moment a harbour seal planted a massive kiss on his friend’s cheek leaving onlookers gasping in delight.
While Alexis Paynter was volunteering at a seal rehabilitation centre in Zeehondencentrum, Netherlands, she got up close and personal with the animals.
Cute footage shows two of the seals looking up at her when one, Poffertje, which is Dutch for mini pancake, suddenly landed a big sloppy kiss on the one next to him, Pancake.
The footage, which left Alexis, 26, gasping in delight, has been liked more than 950,000 times with people joking the kiss took the other seal’s "breath away."
Alexis, from Florida, US, said: “Both me and my friend watching let out huge gasps. I was not expecting something so cute to happen.
“I was volunteering there for three months, helping with the rehabilitation of seals.
“These seals were rescued as babies when they were separated from mom much too early.
“They only spend a couple of months at the centre being cared for. Once they are big and strong enough, they are released back into the wild.
“These guys were about two to three months old at the time. I got to name Pancake when he was first rescued.”
