Torrential rains caused water to accumulate in a gorge near the working quarters of La Gasca and La Commune, bringing down mud and rocks on residential buildings and affecting electricity supply.
At least 24 people were killed in a landslide in the capital of Ecuador, Quito, and 12 more were missing.
