Thailand shooting: Families gather in hospital after 34 killed in daycare massacre
Footage shows a hospital where the dead and injured have been taken after a former policeman killed at least 34 people in Thailand on October 6.
Dozens of shocked relatives gathered at the Nong Bua Lamphu Hospital after Panya Khamrab, 34, opened fire and stabbed children and adults at a preschool kindergarten nursery.
Police confirmed at least 34 people - many of them young children - had been killed and at least 12 others seriously injured. They are being treated at the hospital.
It has emerged that the cop was suspended from the force several months ago for drug offences. He went on the rampage on Thursday killing his wife and own son before turning the gun on himself.
His white Vigo pickup truck was found abandoned at a nearby home having been set alight.
Dozens of bodies covered in blood were scattered across the floor and on the grounds outside the Child Care Center Uthai Sawan Subdistrict Administrative Organization.
Police said 19 boys, three girls and two adults were found day inside the childcare centre. One boy and an adult were found dead at a nearby government office.
While at the shooter's home, one boy and four adults were reportedly killed and another adult was shot dead in a nearby building.
A further three people - all adults - were pronounced dead at the hospital.
A teacher who survived the massacre at a nursery in Thailand told how the killer pointed the gun at her head but she climbed over a wall to escape.
The female preschool teacher said that Panya Khamrab, 34, then beheaded some of the youngsters with a knife - and stabbed a 6-months pregnant teacher to death.
She said: "I saw the technician eating and was talking to him. I knew it was a gun because I heard multiple gunshots, and then I saw him put in the bullets and point the gun at me.
"I called the teacher, and the teacher was hugging the child. He kicked the mirror and I climbed the walls and asked for help.
"He was inside the child centre for a long time. He used a knife and cut all the kids' heads. He was carrying a small gun.
"I didn't know he was going to kill the kids. I thought he was going to come out but he stayed inside a long time. He used a knife and stabbed all the kids.
"He also stabbed a pregnant teacher. It was only a few months until she was due to give birth. He stabbed my staff."
