One minute inside Myanmar
A brief visit to Tachileik in Myanmar's Shan state to visit the Valentine tea shop and the statue opposite it of King Bayinnaung. King Bayinnaung was a 16th century Burmese monarch. The statue was bombed in 2003 and the area closed to the public. Now about to reopen,I was allowed access for the first time in my many visits. Tachileik is accessible from Mae Sai on Thailand's northernmost border .
