A drunk German driver allegedly hit four cars before attempting to escape with his pet Chihuahua in Thailand.

The unidentified foreigner was driving a white Mazda sedan past bars and nightlife venues when he allegedly collided with another car in Pattaya city on October 6 evening.

But instead of pulling over, witnesses claimed he hit the accelerator and sped away before crashing into three motorcycles on the way.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the German motorist, who was with his pet dog when the incident happened.

Footage shows cops asking the foreigner to come out of his car. Another clip showed him embracing his Chihuahua pooch between his arms while talking to the officers.

Thai driver Phunupong Kaseampochsirikul, 50, who the drunk tourist first hit, said: ‘The guy drove right by me but he didn't stop. He crashed into a parking space on the side of the road where he hit motorcycles.'

No one was hurt in the incident, but a car and three motorcycles were found damaged. At the scene, cops found the German's vehicle and another sedan with dents.

He was taken for an alcohol test as he appeared intoxicated upon questioning. The result will be used as evidence in the legal charges that will be filed against him.

The car and motorcycle owners were set to file a complaint against the tourist, who was remanded in custody while police investigated.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Saijai Kamchula said: 'The witnesses said the German man was driving dangerously. He crashed into cars and motorcycles. We will check the CCTV to use it as evidence.'
