A massive 14ft-long python was caught stalking pet cats and dogs in a home in Thailand.

The large 40kg serpent crawled from the garden into the pet's house where the cages of five felines and a Siberian Husky dog were in Chonburi province on October 1 evening.

It was trying to enter the kennels, but the creature was too chubby for the gaps.

When the house caretaker went to feed the pets in the morning, she saw the hungry snake behind the terrified kittens' enclosures, so she called the animal rescuers for help.

House maid Tum said: ‘I always cleaned up the room, so I immediately felt something was wrong.

‘The cages were moved, so I checked behind and found the scary snake. It was really big.'

A local rescue team later arrived at the house to remove the snake. Volunteers asked caretaker Tum to remove one of the cages so they could make space for catching the large snake.

Two volunteers pulled the snake out of the small room after one of the black kittens was taken out. However, it resisted the rescuers and coiled around a volunteer's arm.

After wrestling with the snake, they could take it out of the property and release it into the wild.

Relieved Tum said: ‘This house is usually empty, but I took care of the animals. I was shocked when the snake was there that morning. I am relieved it did not eat our beloved pets.'

The cats and the dog were unhurt and moved to another part of the house while the snake was taken to its habitat.
