This is the scary moment tourists cowered on a footbridge during a hailstorm in the Philippines.

Holidaymakers were shopping around a flea market when there was a sudden heavy downpour in Baguio city on October 9.

The freak weather blew away tents and flash floods swept stalls forcing vendors and holidaymakers to take refuge up a footbridge.

Footage shows terrified tourists and locals using umbrellas to shield themselves from the deluge.

Tourist Daryl Jan Komowang said: ‘We experienced heavy rain, striking winds, and there was even ice.'

Ice pellets also pounded across the city during the severe storm which damaged several stalls.

No one was reported hurt although the hailstorm left some wares damaged from the shops that were swept away.
