Ring bear-er! Grizzly interrupts 'unforgettable' wedding proposal in Mexico
A bear has left social media users stunned after interrupting a wedding proposal with an impromptu appearance.
The furry creature was filmed at a restaurant near the Chipinque Ecological Park in the mountainous area of Cerro de Chipinque, Nuevo Leon State, Mexico, at 9 pm on October 5.
Ricardo Morales said that he was popping the question to his partner Cecilia Canabal when the “unexpected ending” took place.
Thankfully, despite the bear’s intrusion on their big moment, Cecilia said “yes."
In the clip, which has gone viral with over 340,000 views and 2,000 likes, the bride-to-be is seen standing in front of an illuminated sign on the ground that reads "Marry Me" as Ricardo kneels in front of her, with her hand in his.
Seconds later, a large bear casually strolls past the camera.
The couple remains "static” until the bear passes and the cameraperson laughs and tells the couple: “What a good anecdote”.
“The incident took place just after the ‘yes’ when I was going to put the ring on her finger," Ricardo said.
"That’s when we heard the waiters and gardeners tell us ‘don’t be afraid’.
“We turned around and saw a giant shadow approaching us, climbing up the terrace steps.
“We told each other ‘don’t move’, which is why we’re static in the video when the bear passed. It then climbed over a wall and went into a garden."
