A bride had a memorable walk down the wet aisle as heavy rain battered her wedding.

Charlotte Sanchez was excited to finally tie the knot in her dream garden wedding when there was a heavy downpour at the venue in Isabela province, the Philippines on September 18.

But instead of postponing the ceremony, the determined wife-to-be waltzed across the storm to be at the altar where her husband was.

Footage shows Charlotte walking across the aisle runner as her beautiful white gown is slowly drenched in the rain.

She said: ‘We didn't expect it to rain. It was still sunny when we arrived there the day before.'

Charlotte added that they chose the province where it's usually hot and sunny, but the low-pressure area was forecasted on the same day as the ceremony.

She said: ‘If you've visited this part of the country, it's always hot and dry. There are a lot of farms, rice fields, corn, and other crops. It was supposed to be sunny on my wedding but then the typhoon seemed to have come uninvited.'

When the rain started pouring, Charlotte was asked if she would like to wait it out, but she said she felt the moment was right.

She said: ‘I had a feeling that it was my moment and nothing could stop me.'

Their guests and relatives retreated under tents and roofs while proudly watching the confident bride. Some of the wedding entourage followed Charlotte under the storm to assist her.

Proud friend Jeffrey River said: ‘I was blessed to be in that special wedding. The bride was courageous, and I really admired how she remained composed in the middle of it all. It was a nice start to their marriage.'

The low-pressure area that battered the northern region later turned into tropical storm Trases, locally known as Ester.
