Firefighters rescued an elderly woman trapped in a narrow gap between walls in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Zhongshan in Guangdong Province on October 9 shows an elderly woman in her 80s trapped in a 23-centimetre-wide gap between two buildings.

Firefighters used a concrete cutting machine to open a hole in a wall to free her.

According to reports, the elderly woman fell down from a second-floor balcony and got trapped in between the walls.

Firefighters finally rescued the elderly woman successfully and handed her over to the paramedics to take her to the hospital for treatment.

10月9上午8时30分，广东省中山市小榄镇一位八十多岁的阿婆不慎失足从三楼天台跌落，而后被卡在两栋居民楼墙缝之间。消防救援人员接警后迅速到场，经过近一小时的营救，终于助老人脱困。
经了解，被困人员为一名87岁的老人，其从三楼天台跌落在一楼墙缝后，双脚呈跪姿被卡住，老人家神志清醒但无法自行脱困。其被困位置与缝隙出口有1米多的距离，两侧墙面缝隙仅宽23厘米，给现场救援工作带来了困难。
消防救援人员侧身进入缝隙后，使用腰带和绳子尝试帮其脱困，可缝隙实在太窄，被困者的双脚仍牢牢卡在墙面之间。经现场研判，消防救援人员和被困者家属沟通后决定破拆墙体实施营救。
随后，消防救援人员利用混凝土切割机等工具对墙体进行破拆，切开洞口后侧身探进墙缝，用手小心翼翼地调整被困者双脚位置。在确认前后两侧有足够救援空间后，消防救援人员再次尝试使用腰带和绳子，通过紧密配合，最终将老人成功从墙缝救出，并交由现场医护人员送往医院进行治疗。
