Stray dog rescued after being found slowly suffocating from plastic jar stuck on its head
A stray dog was found slowly suffocating after its head was trapped for days in a transparent plastic jar.
The black pooch was spotted roaming around the undergrowth while wearing the plastic container in Ang Thong province, Thailand, on October 10.
Khwanruean Thongphan, a village official, called volunteers when she saw the dog walking along the roadside near a sugarcane farm.
It appeared thin and exhausted, unable to eat or breathe properly with the jar jammed on its head.
When the rescuers arrived, the frightened canine fled and hid in the tall grass. The specialists had to sneak on it from behind before scooping it up with a blanket.
Footage shows the terrified pooch wriggling in a rescuer's arms while barking. It then calmed down as a volunteer began twisting the jar loose.
It took mere seconds to pop the jar from the stray's head, with the wary animal running off after it was freed.
Khwanruean said: 'I was driving back home after running an errand when I saw the black dog walking along the road. It was wearing the plastic jar and it looked so pitiful, like it hadn't eaten anything for days.
'I decided to call rescuers for help because it would've died otherwise.'
