This is the funny moment an elephant stuck its backside in the air while doing amusing stretches in Thailand.

The jumbo named Yodtong, 9, did various poses as it frolicked in the dirt at the Elephant Museum in Suri province on September 28.

It assumed a 'downward facing dog' position while rubbing its face and trunk in the sand.

The owner said: 'He's the cutest elephant. He loves playing and ejoying himself.'

Elephants are the national animal of Thailand. In the wild, they roam through the deep jungle and in the country's protected national parks but often encounter humans on roads and in villages.

However, they are protected by laws and killing them carries a maximum prison term of up to three years and a fine of 1,000 baht (25GBP).
