Usually its the ducks that eat the snail, but today I witnessed a bizarre case of a snail that was trying to eat a small duckling. We observed one duck sitting quietly by himself by the side of the pond, on closer examination we found that he could not move, as there was a snail attached to his foot and entangled in weeds. We removed him from the water, but the snail would not let go. We placed the snail and ducklings foot in a bucket of water, but still the snail would not let go. We then got a large cleaver and chopped the snail in half, finally he let go, and the chicken was was released back to his pond and friends. He seemed ok, except for he was very very hungry and wolfed down some food immediately. What a strange experience, my first time to see a snail try to eat a duckling.
