This is the dramatic moment brave drivers risked their lives to rescue a motorcycle rider swept away by surging floods in Thailand.

The motorists bounded across the raging current to help the rider struggling against the deluge along a road in Kanchanaburi province on October 9.

The flood had nearly pushed him off the edge of the highway, but the Good Samaritans managed to pull him and his motorbike towards safety.

Onlooker Nancy Patnaree said: 'The flood was so scary. The locals did not even hesitate to help the man. They're very kind.'

Heavy rain has been battering large parts of Thailand for the last three months.

This year, meteorologists have blamed climate change for the sustained heavy rain, which has been hitting the Thai capital and provinces around the country causing severe floods for several weeks.

Thailand's Center for Climate Change and Disaster claimed the torrential weather was due to 'climate change'.

Local media reported that the country has this year seen 'an unusually sustained and persistent rainy season'.
