This is the dramatic moment two motorcycle thieves were arrested after a high-octane police chase in Thailand,

Two men were found to be stealing scooters from their neighborhood and smuggling them across the border between Sa Kaeo province and neighbouring Cambodia.

Several residents complained about missing two-wheelers ‘that vanished like ghosts' in May before the men Wathon Saisin, 31, and Pichetchai Butgham, 31, were identified a month later with cops serving them arrest warrants on June 4.

Thrilling police car dash cam footage shows the duo onboard a motorcycle while they fled the officers. They entered a maze-like dirt track where they failed to lead the cops astray and were later caught.

Colonel Natthaphong Mang-Ana said: ‘We sent a team to arrest the two in their house. They tried to escape on a motorcycle.'

The officers arrived at an empty house with three motorcycles hidden in the garage. The motorbikes were confirmed stolen from Chon Buri province.

Wathon and Pichetchai later arrived but quickly left upon seeing the cops who followed them.

The pair fell down on their motorcycle and reportedly fired a shot to the officers with the bullet hitting the ground.

After questioning, three more accomplices Chakrapan Muthichan, Sukanya Palatham and Wiparat Homming were investigated for allegedly hiding stolen motorcycles in a resort in Sa Kaeo province.

The group reportedly smuggled the stolen motorbikes into Cambodia before they were sold so officers would not find them anywhere in the country.

One of the stolen scooter's owner Kamolphan Dokklang said: ‘My motorcycle was parked in front of my store but in the morning it was gone. It vanished like a ghost.

'The officers tracked the men down using CCTV footage. I am relieved they are caught now but I think I will not be able to find my motorcycle anymore.'
