Tens of thousands demonstrate in Madrid to demand inflation-linked increases in salaries and pensions
Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Madrid on Saturday 15 October, to demand pay and pension increases.
The protesters want inflation-matching increases in salaries and pensions.
Pensioners also came from all over Spain to demand that minimum pensions at least match 60% of the country's minimum wage.
They were also joined by unions, activists and ordinary citizens who marched through the city centre shouting slogans against the government, threatening a general strike, and demanding that public services are not privatised
