On Saturday October 15 at about 1:10am Hemet Fire Department and police responded to reports of a two-vehicle traffic collision with one vehicle on fire just east of the intersections of Kirby St and Florida Ave.

Arriving crews located a silver Honda Accord with major damage and its engine compartment on fire. It had spun the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Florida Ave. The other vehicle was a white Toyota Tundra pickup truck with rear end damage, in the parking lot of a nearby shopping centre.

The driver of the silver Accord appeared to have crashed into the rear of the pickup truck at high speed. He was uninjured and taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The occupants of the pickup truck were uninjured in the crash.
