Ukraine's capital Kyiv was attacked by 28 Iranian "kamikaze" drones this morning (October 17). At least one person died. The bombardment began at 6.30 am local time.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, said that a total of five explosions were heard in the city. He explained: "One of them is in a residential building in the Shevchenkiv district".

According to Ukraine’s air force, around 85% of drones were shot down.

A clip 31 seconds into shows one of the Iranian "kamikaze" drones flying over the city before landing in the distance. In the foreground, a person armed with a gun is seen firing towards the missile before it landed.

Further footage shows people seeking shelter, explosions, buildings on fire, and emergency services responding to the strike. The video also features images of rescuers clearing the rubble.

At least 18 people have been pulled out of the rubble so far. One is believed to still be under it.

The footage was shared by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SAS).
