This is the moment an empty pickup truck rolled backwards when the driver forgot to pull the handbrakes.

CCTV footage shows the white vehicle sliding down the road as its female owner rushed to run after it in Chumphon province, Thailand, on December 16.

The vehicle started to move slowly until it accelerated upon hitting the sloped dirt path.

It only stopped upon hitting the trees on the ditch, causing damage to the rear bumper.

Car owner Pariwat Rattanachinda said: ‘The truck moved by itself. Fortunately, there were not many motorists passing by.'

Pariwat added that the insurance company didn't cover the damage repairs to the truck following the embarrassing parking fail.

She said: ‘The insurance company refused to pay because it was partly the driver's fault.'

No one was hurt during the incident.
