A woman was given a fright by glass shattering as she walked through a doorway in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Jiangmen in Guangdong Province on October 11 shows a glass door suddenly shattering next to a woman named Zhu when she was walking out of a shop.

According to reports, the woman's friend was the owner of the cosmetic shop.

Zhu said: "I did not touch the glass. It suddenly exploded and nearly fell over me. I was frightened by it."

Fortunately, Zhu was not injured. The incident may have been caused by the ageing of the glass.

Zhu's friend then spent more than 1,000 yuan (£123) to replace the glass with a new panel.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
