This is the hilarious moment an inquisitive pet cat fell into a hollow steel bar while walking across a door frame.

Curiosity proved the better of the feline named Yimno when it decided to slink into the narrow space at home in Chai Nat province, Thailand, on October 12.

Its owner, Siriporn Sub-ngoen, became worried when the cat went missing and decided to check the CCTV footage - only to find that her beloved pet had slid into the steel pillar of its own accord.

She asked her neighbours for help, and the residents brought a ladder to conduct the rescue operation.

Luckily, the hole was narrow enough that they were able to grab Yimno's tail and yank it out without issue. The feline was saved within five minutes.

Relieved Siriporn said: 'Yimno is very adventurous. I'm not surprised she got herself into such a strange place. If it weren't for the camera, I wouldn't have a clue where she was hiding.'
