An artist carves out images onto eggshells and turns them into cute lamps.

Elmer Jason Reyes collects the shells after making his breakfast omelette and dries them in his workshop in Bulacan province, the Philippines.

When the materials are cleaned, he will use sharp stinking tools to engrave his designs.

Footage shows the colourful tiny pink lamp after etching out a rose on the egg's surface.

Elmer said: ‘I am a mixed-media artist. I love making artwork out of anything. I am glad that many people liked my egg lamps.'

Aside from adorable rose lamps, he also makes more intricate designs like portraits.

He said: ‘I also have an egg with Michael Jackson's portrait. They're a cute addition to a corner table or library.'
