Police and ambulance crews dashed to a house in Dovey Road, in Sparkhill, just after 3.40am and found the baby was not breathing. The tot was rushed to hospital by paramedics but he was pronounced dead a short time later. A 26-year-old woman also suffered non life-threatening injuries in the same incident and was taken to hospital for treatment. Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with death.
