A poodle named Deng Pao, which means light bulb, was spotted standing on its hind legs begging for food from a meat stall in northern China.

The funny video was filmed in the city of Xi’an in Shaanxi Province on October 17.

The filmer Ms Li captured the scene when she was shopping in the market.

The meat stall owner threw a small piece of meat to the pooch after seeing it was begging.

According to Deng Pao’s owner Ms Sun, her puppy went to beg for food when she was buying groceries.

Sun said Deng Pao learnt to stand on its hind legs by itself as she always told it that it should be polite when asking for food.

Deng Pao got used to standing to get the food it wanted and people normally gave it to the cute pooch.

另据狗狗的主人孙女士介绍，当时自己正在买菜，没想到狗狗自己跑去肉摊前讨肉去了。这是一只花泰迪，叫灯泡，狗狗是自学成才，以前自己顺嘴给狗狗说要食物吃得有礼貌，得谢谢人家，它比较有灵性，之后就养成了这种习惯，每次看见好吃的食物都会上前作揖讨要，别人一般都会给它。
