This adorable dog named Tinker and 8-year-old Carmela have a very special relationship that sees the pooch pick up items for her, close doors and even pull off her socks.

Carmela, who lives in Devizes, UK, has LMNA congenital muscular dystrophy which wastes away her skeletal muscles over time, her mother Lucy told Newsflare.

"By her teenage years she will lose the ability to walk and stand altogether and will need to use her wheelchair full-time," she added.

The 8-year-old managed to teach her clever pooch to pull her socks right off her feet.

Lucy explained how the dog learnt these tricks: "Carmela taught Tinker playing tug of war with a tea towel then put the tea towel on the door and gave Tinker the command 'tug' and would reward her every time she tugged.

"She then gradually changed the command word to 'pull or close' then was able to change the tea towel to a rope toy so she didn't wave it about."

Footage shows the pooch picking up items from the floor for her human best friend. The final clip shows Carmela taking Tinker for a walk in her specially adapted tricycle.

"Their relationship is adorable. Tinker is so loyal and will do anything for Carmela. Tinker goes to bed with her, helps her with her exercises and loves playing.

"My daughter is known as 'wonder girl' for her can-do attitude."
