Terrified gamers fled from an internet cafe when a magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck the southern Philippines on October 19.

CCTV footage shows the customers running from the building when the tremors struck in Kidapawan City, Cotabato province.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit four kilometres southwest of Magsaysay town in Davao del Sur province at 4:05 pm local time.

It triggered class suspensions in schools near the epicentre.

No casualties or injuries were reported.

The Philippines is an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands inside the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where the majority of Earth's volcano eruptions and earthquakes happen.
