Heavy rains triggered a landslide along a road along the holiday island of Phuket in Thailand.

The relentless downpours battered the province, loosening the soil and causing it to flow towards a street on October 19.

Restaurant owner Tonaor Natarat said: 'This happened right across my property. I hope the rains stop soon.'

A major landslide also occurred on Patong Hill in Phuket on Wednesday, prompting authorities to close the route for safety while they wait for better weather before assessing the damage.

Warnings were raised over the province on October 19, with meteorologists warning of flash floods and landslides until October 22.

Local media reported the inclement weather was caused by the monsoon trough dumping rains on the coast along the Andaman Sea.
