This is the disgusting moment a cobra regurgitated a rat snake while it was being caught by rescuers.

Footage shows the venomous serpent unsheathing the smaller dead snake from its gut as volunteers cornered it in a forest near a village in Phetchabun province on November 19.

A local who was harvesting bamboo shoots in the woods had found the cobra's nest and called the rescue team fearing the animal might wander into residents' homes.

The officers arrived and captured the deadly snake, which regurgitated its last meal while trying to escape. The cobra measured eight feet long and 20 kilograms heavy.

They placed the creature inside a sack and also seized some 39 eggs which they turned over to provincial wildlife officers.

The rescuers believe the cobra had devoured the rat snake in preparation for its incubation period.

Villagers said they were relieved that the cobra nest had been removed.
