Rapid response police car slams into a railing after colliding with another vehicle
Shocking footage shows the moment when a rapid response police car slams into a railing after colliding with another vehicle. The disturbing head-on impact - which “shook” shops and houses - took place yesterday (Oct 19), just after 4.30 pm, in Oldham, Grtr. Manchester. And it appears to show how the police car struck the metal barrier after bumping into a white hatchback vehicle, which then knocks it sideways at high speed. Bethany Slater, 33, said her husband, who runs a nearby family grocery store, was the first on the scene of the horror crash, on Ashton Road, after hearing “a big bang”. And when he rushed over to help the trapped police officers, he had opened the door to find the driver with blood “all over his jacket”. The mum-of-one said: “It was just gone 4.30 pm, and the shop shook as it went through the railing. "It was like a big bang. The camera shook, you can see it on the CCTV footage. “My husband was in the shop at the time, and he was the first one out. He actually opened the driver’s door, and he had got blood all over his jacket. "It wasn't obvious if it had gone through him." “A customer phoned the police, but it was minutes until they turned up. I live two streets away, and my husband rang me. And then I saw the helicopter overhead.” Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for comment regarding this incident.
