The Director-General of the Palestinian Olive Council, Fayyad Fayyad, says that the Gaza Strip has achieved a record achievement in the quality of the olive and oil crop locally and globally, and this season produced about 39,000 tons, which is the second-best production in the last 20 years. He added, "This season, the areas planted with olives in the Gaza Strip amounted to about 43,000 dunams, and about 34,000 of them yielded fruit, with a production rate of more than a ton per dunam, and this means that there is a surplus of the local need."

According to Fayyad, Gaza annually exports five thousand tons of olive oil, with a financial return of up to 30 million dollars, and sends it to Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman, and other countries such as the United States, Japan, and Indonesia.
