This is the moment panicked players fled from a snooker hall as a magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook the building in southern Philippines.

Footage shows the men and audience running onto the streets when they felt the strong vibrations in Digos City, Davao del Sur province, on October 19.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit four kilometres southwest of Magsaysay town in the same province at 4:05 p.m. local time.

It triggered class suspensions in schools near the epicentre.

No casualties or injuries were reported.

The Philippines is an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands inside the Pacific 'Ring of Fire' where the majority of Earth's volcano eruptions and earthquakes happen.
