This is the moment the driver of a Mercedes AMG drove into a flooded ford and killed his engine, leaving him stranded in the flood water.

Despite a flashing warning LED sign stating “Ford CAUTION DO NOT CROSS” on Green Road in the Hall Green area of Birmingham, UK, the driver decided to carry on, causing a bow wave to go over his vehicle and flooding his engine.

The sheepish driver stayed in his vehicle until deciding to brave the current and walked to safety through the two feet of water.

Several minutes later a driver of a modified Land Rover Discovery came to the man’s rescue and towed him out of the River Cole.

Most of the UK has been hit by torrential downpours and thunderstorms on Friday 21 October.
