This is the heartwarming moment a kind hairdresser treated a woman whose head was infested with thousands of lice.

The stylist, Jun, agreed to help the girl, 22, after a villager solicited her help in Chaiyaphum province, Thailand, on October 22.

Jun was initially reluctant, but relented after feeling pity for the young woman whose hair has become a tangled nest for the blood-sucking parasites.

Wielding her electric razor, the hairdresser shaved off chunks of the girl's hair, exposing dozens of the live bugs crawling across her scalp.

Stomach-churning footage shows the insects writhing like maggots as Jun continued mowing down the woman's unruly black locks.

The lice, plump with blood, clung stubbornly onto the lady's skin, but they were no match for Jun's tools.

Jun said: 'A villager came and asked if I can help help this girl. She had been abandoned by her parents when she was young and was adopted by a grandma who is now very old.

'I said no at first. I was terrified. But after taking a closer look and seeing the number of lice, I felt pity and agreed.

'However, as you can see in the video, we went to shave outside the shop. When everything was finished, I gave her a new set of clean clothes.'

She added that the electric razor had become blunt due to the sheer number of lice on the woman's head.

Jun said: 'I'll wash it, soak it in alcohol, and sharpen it again before using it on other customers.'
