This is the moment an army of ants was found building a nest inside a resident's cable box in Thailand.

Dozens of the tiny insects were spotted inside the device when repairman Chatchai Janyotha climbed up the post to check on the camera in Khon Kaen province on October 22.

The creatures were biting and crawling on the wires which Chatchai believed to have caused the issue.

Footage shows the ants building their small colony inside the plastic object.

Chatchai said: ‘One of our customers said there was a problem with the camera. The images were poor and sometimes disconnected.

‘We did all software checks, but we only found out what's wrong when we opened it up.'

The ants were removed from the camera while the device was repaired.
