A man named Conor was enjoying some refreshments with friends after his round of golf at Vale do Lobo Ocean Course in Portugal, when a ball from the 18th green started ricocheting around the restaurant. The scene left them startled.

Moments later a gentleman proceeded to drive his buggy through the crowded restaurant and played a shot that "had to be seen to be believed", said Conor.

The filmer said: "After the incredible golf shot, over 50 invested bystanders followed the gentleman to the green in hope of witnessing the greatest up and down in the history of golf. To the disappointment of all who were there, the resulting putt narrowly misses the hole shortly followed by agonising groans from the crowd".

Conor described it as a "bitter end to what would have been a thrilling story to tell the grandkids".

He also added: "Nevertheless, I was glad I was there and even more so, glad to catch it all on camera".
