Drone footage shows the widespread flooding caused by Typhoon Nalgae in the Philippines with at lease 13 people killed by the storm.

The deluge left motorists struggling to cross roads following heavy rains in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental province, on October 27.

Classes in the province have been suspended for the week as residents brace for Nalgae's impact.

State weather bureau PAGASA said the trough of the storm is affecting Negros Occidental, as well as swathes of the country's central and southern regions.

Naguib Sinarimbo, interior minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said at least 13 people have died in Maguindanao province in southern Philippines on Friday.

Tropical storm Nalgae, locally named Paeng, is expected to strengthen into a typhoon by Saturday October 29 as it rip through the Bicol region where it will make its first landfall.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that a total of 4,975 individuals were evacuated as severe flooding reached roof height in some areas.
