The Ministry of Education of Indonesia aims to ensure that 600,000 honorary teachers in Indonesia are receiving this position, which is different from civil servants who receive pension benefits, but have a guaranteed salary from the state.
This video captures Sri Sumaryatiningsih, or as the students call her simply Mrs. Asih, a honorary teacher at the Pondok Labu 14 State Elementary School, Jakarta, who is trying to get this position.
