This is the dramatic moment a mountain collapsed next to homes in a landslide triggered by Typhoon Nalgae in the Philippines, with at least 72 people dead.

Footage shows the mound shaking before large portions of soil and rocks eroded in Negros Occidental province on October 28 morning,

The debris could be heard crashing onto homes as residents fled their properties following the landslide.

Local Princess Gimarangan said: ‘It was terrifying. I was just shouting for my mother to come out of the house with me.'

Officials said that the Philippines has recorded 72 deaths from Nalgae following severe floods and landslides in southern provinces. Tens of thousands more have been evacuated or fled their homes.

Tropical storm Nalgae, locally named Paeng, strengthened into a typhoon as it made landfall.

Agency spokesman Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro told local media on Saturday that Maguindanao province was the most affected with 67 people dead, while two were killed in Sultan Kudarat, another two in South Cotabato and the rest of the casualties spread across the Visayas region in central Philippines.
