This is the scary moment riders were stuck on the road amid flying roofs and heavy rain during Typhoon Nalgae in the Philippines.

Dominic Nool was on his way home when the strong wind and heavy downpour started hours after the powerful typhoon made landfall in Laguna province, on October 29.

He said roofs from nearby houses were thrown to the streets so they had to stop and take shelter at a convenience store.

The rider said: 'It was terrifying being trapped out in the open like that. There were parts of houses scattered around.'

Typhoon Nalgae, locally known as Paeng, left a massive trail of damage and a death toll of 98 typhoon related deaths. It also left 69 injured while rescuers search for 63 missing individuals.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council report stated that Nalgae affected 1.8million individuals. It is expected to exit the country by Wednesday November 2 heading to the southern part of China.
