A massive explosion at a restaurant has killed one person in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Ganzhou in Jiangxi Province on October 29 shows heavy smoke rising up as a huge fire suddenly burst out of the breakfast shop.

One person was killed and more than 10 people were taken to hospital with injuries.

According to reports, the explosion was not caused by a gas leak. But the gas company has switched off the gas valve for nearby residential communities for safety reasons.

The cause is being investigated by the local authority.

10月29日20时30分许，江西赣州经开区湖边镇纬一路某店面发生一起爆炸事故。目前，初步核实有1人死亡，10余人受伤，相关部门正在全力救援，受伤人员已送医院救治，爆炸原因正在调查。
现场视频显示，一沿街的门面房已被炸得面目全非，停在路边的汽车直接被气浪掀翻，满地的建筑物残骸。
据知情者介绍，发生爆炸的门面为一早餐店，目前救援行动正在开展中，伤者正在医院接受救治。
赣州深燃天然气有限公司工作人员表示，爆炸发生后公司立即派人到现场查看，经过检查，并非燃气管道泄漏导致的爆炸。为了保障居民安全，该公司按照政府有关部门要求，已经将香溢华府小区和附近的翠谷康居小区天然气阀门关闭，公司已经给两个小区的用户发布停气通知。赣州市应急管理局工作人员表示，事故发生后，工作人员已经第一时间前往处置，30日还召开了紧急调度会议，但目前事故原因还在进一步调查。
