This is the heartwarming moment kind volunteers combed through a flooded town to feed stranded stray animals in Thailand.

Businessman Suppharat Wiriyasuepphong and his friends rowed across the inundated Bungkasaeo community in Ubon Ratchathani province on October 27, searching for hapless strays that needed their help.

Footage shows Suppharat, also known as Sia Kang, feeding a litter of six puppies and their mum that were trapped on a rooftop to escape high floods.

The team also gave food to a trio of cats sitting on a corrugated iron roof in the area.

Sia Kang said: 'Since I became a volunteer, this is the first time I've felt so sad for a starving pack of dogs.

'When the puppies saw us rowing towards them, they were so happy they nearly jumped off the roof to approach us.'

He added that the non-profit Zendai Foundation has since rescued the dogs.

Thailand has been experiencing severe flooding this year.

Meteorologists have blamed climate change for the sustained heavy rain, which has been hitting the Thai capital and provinces around the country causing heavy floods for several weeks.
